Voice for LPing

How do you guys get over hating your voice when it comes to Let's Playing? My voice is very deep so I can't really change the way it sounds. I try sounding excited, sad, or even mad but it still has that monotone lag with it.

We don't? At least I don't, I don't like the way my voice sounds. People have said they like the voice, so that's all that matters. I can only make myself sound the best I can, the rest is up to the viewers.

So post it anyway since it is kind of impossible for EVERYONE to hate your voice?

Before I say just post it, ever asked a friend how they think of your voice? Did they say its fine? Did they say its unique? I mean most people don't like their own voice but others might just like it or atleast they don't hate it.

Though I don't have a gaming channel, what I do is talk from start to finish, imagine how hard that is to post without someone to tell you that you actually have an ok voice. And and and! I prefer a soothing voice (almost monotone) voices for let's play videos because I can't stand listening to people who have over reactions when gaming.

Also, I still don't like listening to my voice and editing is a nightmare (I want to mute it but then I can't coz how am I going to sync my voice to the material lol) but people say I have a cute voice or something similar to that so its bearable.

I honestly just got use to my voice. At first I was a lil worried and annoyed since I have a small accent since english is my second language, first one being spanish, but after a while I just got use to it and when recording don't try to act just go with the flow of how you feel while playing. For example while playing FNAF I was scared and anxious and I didn't change my voice when being scared I just reacted normally! I know some who would act it out but what for?

Anyways, go with the flow of how you feel, be yourself, don't act and if you do don't overact cause it will make you look fake and a lot of people don't like fake let's players (as in acting wise).

I've asked one family member and about 8 friends and they said "Go for it." However, I think that their opinion is bias since they just gradually got used to my voice overtime.

Most people don't care nearly as much as you do. Unless you're voice is insanely annoying like squeaky high pitched and nasally, most people won't even think twice about it. I know I don't. When I first hear someone's voice, VERY rarely do I ever have an opinion or think anything of it unless it stands out a lot in a weird way, but that's extremely rare.

As for getting over it yourself, you just do. I used to hate the way I looked on camera and the way my voice sounded, but after hundreds and hundreds of hours of looking at my stupid face while editing, I completely got over it. It doesn't even register as 'me' anymore, it's just the content now that matters. Also, no one's ever commented anything negative about my appearance or voice, so it must be fine for others as well...

Hmm then try asking a different question. Like "what did you think when you first heard me talk?" or "first heard my voice", I mean... even Snape has a weird voice and some people are into that. We can't please everyone but not everyone is a hater. Get me?

Don't worry too much, also, with a different kind of voice and way of presentation, you might just be able to be one of those that are actually new and fresh. That means you might actually stand out and it could be your thing that no one can take away from you. Lets take the good and remold the bad.

X3 I would wanna hear how you sound like tho lol you might just be too self conscious about it OR you could actually be right. *shrug*

I found that over time I got use to my own voice and hearing it, I also didn't like hearing my own voice but as I said just earlier you will get use to hearing it.

I felt the same way when I started but I constantly get viewers telling me they love my voice. Use it to your advantage since there's already tons of LPers that yell or scream with higher pitched or high-energy, fast-talking voices.
