So I had this great idea to have an alter ego who would make "guest appearances" or do dual commentary with. Problem is, I need a voice changer. I'd prefer free, but cheap would do. Mac or PC, but Mac would be preferable. Thanks

Hahha! I was just like "Why does he need that!? O_O" when I saw the title! xD

Audacity? Change pitch and tempo to preferred preferences. I can't think of any free software to change your voice personally, but there might be some out there.

I was looking more for one with preset voices, if that makes sense. I have a terrible ear for audio, so doing it manually (and being consistent across multiple videos) would be hard

I can answer your question very easily
all you need is a vocodex or any vocoder software search for it in google
it can modulate your voice
it can make it robotic/cartoonic/alien-like etc.

and if you like eminem's lose yourself song then you can also go to my channel and check its instrumental remix plz
it all depends on you. Go there if you wish else don't go

actually from streaming i found this as a side result in trying to find a live noise reduction tool

look up autotune and mixcraft. one that taught me i couldn't find but there are tons of videos just looking up those 2 key words

you'll also need virtual audio cables (VAC)=p

and VAC with mixcraft at 1st btw is pretty tough to set up. took me like half a day to figure it out hehe.

If you could channel your inner voice actor, you could just use a "different" voice, haha. Otherwise, the others before me have good suggestions. I was planning on using Audacity for this purpose when I did something similar.

Haha, I'm a terrible voice actor. Too nasally.
