Hey everyone looking for some advice, we have a travel/RV/adventure channel. We are constantly on the go. Right now we film with a Canon Rebel T5I, external mic, small tripod and a wide lens. We have been debating getting a Go Pro with an external mic, and shooting mostly with it.

Should we get a go pro and shoot in lower quality to match our Canon?

Should we shoot highest quality on the Canon and the go pro edit it all together?

Or just shoot highest quality on the go pro and dont really use the Canon any more?

thanks for the advice.

use the canon for sit down stuff as well as things where you need a better overall image quality, and the gopro for everything else, always record the highest quality possible (unless your doing it for higher framerates) and fix it in post, that future proofs your videos and 4k can look sharp even exported at 1080P

Great info! So we actually pulled the trigger, the GoPro is pretty amazing. The audio is a little bit of a concern in wind and some other situations, but we have an external mic coming for that.
