Vlogging - Explain like I'm five.

Hey Gals and Guys,

I've heard about vlogging since the early days but I've never watched a single one.
I have no idea what they are or what their purpose is.

Could someone explain it and maybe point me to some good vloggers that I can watch and see what it's about.
Also point out good YTT vloggers so I can check them out also.

I know it's a dumb question but I'd rather ask than remain ignorant.
 
Blogging is kinda like a video blog. You sit in front of a camera and talk about something, or you just film your life. Some YTT vloggers are like @KGATV @PressRecord. KGA is a typical vlogger, weekly videos, tags, and challenges. Press Record is a daily blogger which pretty much films their life, (good personalities really help here.)
Now bigger vloggers include like Connor Franta (weekly) and FunForLouis (Daily & traveler).
 
It's short for video blog, and it's when people make a video talking about something (anything).

I guess the purpose is to share some aspect of your life to the world and/or entertain others through that.

I don't really watch vloggers but I used to watch jpmetz and soundlyawake (he's more a skit-based vlogger).
 
What I see it as is basically a video diary
some people vlog daily and some can be very uneventful
but others vlog important or exciting part of their life

sorry I've no examples from YTT
