Vlog vs Blog?!?!

Vlog or Blog what is the difference between these? I always thought i knew, but now I'm questioning it. I originally thought a Blog was a typed form of expressing yourself via a website and a vlog was a video representation of your day.

Now I'm hearing/seeing them used interchangeably. Also I'm starting to see people call a video of them talking face to face with the camera a vlog.

A little background on me - I'm a budding vlogger on youtube so I'm just trying to make sure I know the right terminology.

So if you guys could explain this to me in grade school terms it would be great .

I would describe it the same way! But is blogs going out of fashion?

I suppose its a little less common but if you go looking for them there are lots of places people blog, tumblr is pretty big for that.

I feel like it's out of fashion for us, because were in the world of video. I mean youtube is nothing but videos so if your a content creator thats all you usually see but bloggers probably feel like its very alive[DOUBLEPOST=1459962112,1459962014][/DOUBLEPOST]

according to cambridge dictionary online ''a regular record of your thoughts, opinions, or experiences that you put on the internet for other people to read:She writes a food blog in which she shares recipes, tips, and restaurant reviews.I read about it in/on a blog'' so i suppose you could say this is.

Years ago (around 1997, I think), when I was part of an "online diary community," the word "weblog" came up, and we were all SO MAD that such a terrible word was being foist upon us. Now there are blogs and vlogs and I'm sure the language will change even more. Don't get too caught up in the terminology, unless you're categorizing for something specific.

This sums up the differences perfectly! A blog usually refers to a text post.
