Video Tags, Important?

And that's why you have 31 subs and 2.4k overall views? If you know how to tag properly you could gain way more views and subscribers. You missing allot friend:)
Well tell me, is it ok if a game is available for xbox One etc. to put it as a tag even though it's not gameplay of the xbox one? I see several people put stuff like that in their description as well and I'm always wondering if it's legit.

[quote="Tagging properly", aka, false tags and having tags in your video description?[/quote]

No.

@iBenminja

That is false or misleading tagging. People who search for ''Xbox one gameplay'' and don't see ''Xbox one gameplay'' will probably hook off in the first 30 seconds. And you should probably know that watch time is very important. Poor watch time will hurt your video rankings pretty badly so i won't recommend doing that.

I wouldn't know anything more to put besides: playthrough, walkthrough, name of the game etc. I can put a bunch of BS as tags but I doubt that will give me more views.[DOUBLEPOST=1389446982,1389446245][/DOUBLEPOST]

I'm using tags at the moment so I'm not really missing out on anything like you said before. I'm just not doing this youtube.com/watch?v=5mmiecb4DGg

Just look at the description, that's just ridiculous.

Tags are important yes but video retention is more important for ranking, ironically 1 cannot happen without the other depending on your size. If you have like 500k+ subs you generally don't have to tag as much since the title with the specific topic is generally enough. Try to tag anything related to the video. If you talked about a banana, tag it, if you talked about a PS4, tag it, if you talked about girlfriends or something, tag it, if you talked about a specific model of car you bought, tag the brand, tag the model, then tag the brand and the model togheter, short tail + long tail. This increases your chances that if someone searches the brand and the model they might find you, you'll get even more lucky if by some odd chance no 1 else A) bought the car or B) bought the car, talked about it on YouTube but didn't tag it lol Obviously don't tag if you just mention something like randomly saying the word banana. Video games are just as hard to tag as well.

I don't mind people that tag in their descriptions as long as it's relevant but they should try to keep it at around 5-10lines.
