If i was to make videos on my xbox, or computer like gaming videos what kind of recording software do you think i will need? What kind of mic too? Not more than $300. Preferably cheap though.

usb mic, usb capture card/pvr, software should come free with the card/pvr

Although I don't have a gaming channel, I once made a video game trailer for my friend who had created a video game. For that, I just used 'Quick Time' on the mac to record the footage. While the software is free, I'm not sure if it works on PCs...
