If your content is good you can do longer videos, problem is most people have poor intro's and it goes downhill from there. The temptation for a viewer to click on RWJ or Smosh is just far too great these days.
You need to have a structured video, all the best youtubers have a underlying structure to a video...thats why they keep a audience
