Video blurry and pixelated after upload

Hey guys

So I’m pretty new on YouTube as a content creator and I have an annoying problem. Every time I upload a video on YT it doesn’t look all too well, even at 1080p. The biggest problem are some movement. The video gets blurry and pixelated. But the raw video and the rendered one look perfect.

Now I know YT compresses videos, but still, videos on other channels don’t look as bad as mine. I even uploaded the raw video and it looks just the same. But when I upload the same video on Vimeo it looks way better. No pixelation and it doesn’t get blurry.

I’ve read somewhere that I can’t do nothing about it. But if I get more subs and views per video, YT “enables” better quality / better compression for me. Is that true?

Are you using Sony Vegas Pro for editing? YT compressed video after uploading. Anyway, disable Smart Sampling on your timeline when editing, that'd do the trick.

what kind of video format is it?

I used a digital HD camera in college for a project and it was horribly pixely, the non HD camera was 100 times better.

These are the settings I use in Cyberlink Powerdirector and mine look pretty sharp lately even after uploading. It seems like after I got my new computer the quality of videos after uploading got better. Not sure if this had anything to do with it, but my latest GoPro videos look great even on Youtube.

Hey

Ok maybe I should have mentioned it earlier, but I uploaded game footage and yes I use Sony Vegas. I tried with and without smart sampling, the outcome is the same. As for video format, I tried all kinds, AVI, mp4, wmv, h264 x264 (though I don’t know what the difference between h and x is).

Its always the same. Even with the raw video. I use Bandicam with the Lagarith Losseless codec for video capture.

And it doesn’t matter what I do, the problem persists. I don’t know if it helps but its always the exact same moment where it gets all blurry, even with the raw file.

Channel link please. We almost have the same setup though I'm not lossless codec on bandicam. What's your render settings?

if its the same even in raw video then theres nothing you can do. its one of those videos that cant be made perfect dont waste time on it.
