Video Being Weird on My Computer

Hi guys!

This is a call for help and any help is greatly appreciated! :D

So just yesterday Windows Media Player began doing this WEIRD thing where it beeps during playback. It starts off slow, and gets progressively faster/more regular.

I didn't think this would be a big deal because I can use other media players.

BUT.... I think it has effected Premiere Pro's preview playback and it is extremely slow and choppy!! It doesn't seem to happen with .MOVs but with .AVI and .MP4 files it's really choppy when it wasn't before the beep thing started happening.

How did the beep start happening?

The only I thing can connect it to was when I downloaded Chronotron line-plug in for WMP, and in WMP while a file was playing I pressed Ctrl+U (may or may not be irrelevant as after any file begins playing on WMP, it takes about 15-30 seconds before the first beep occurs). When I did this, the beep started happening. I uninstalled the Chronotron line plug-in, but the beeping still happens in WMP....

AND Premiere is being painful too (as mentioned above).

Any suggestions? :)

Cheers!
