Make sure to optimize your channel and all of your videos, have good descriptions, thumbnails, keywords, etc. Obviously good content is very important as well. Then you need to find places to promote yourself online. Find forums, facebook groups, etc where your potential audience would be. Then add quality to those communities, be active rather than just posting your videos and walking away. Also sharing with friends and family is a great start, you can even ask them for feedback of what you could do better.
