Vegas pro 12 takes Hours to render a ten minute video!

To all of you recommending 1080p, tbh most of your subs will watch it in 720p,
4GB RAM is low for editing.
I honestly think 8gb is the minimum you should have for this kinda work, I'd upgrade to 16gb but money is hard to come by these days xD

Agreed, Editing Software is heavy on RAM especially when dealing with lots of effects, layers. etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1401985240,1401985177][/DOUBLEPOST]

Once again agree, even PewDiePie uploads in 720p if I'm not mistaken.

Low RAM is also why a short 1080 video might render fast, while a long video is not. The longer video has much more preview data to be held in RAM while it's working. If it's overblowing the RAM available, then the process will slow down.

from my experience, 1080p is always ALOT longer then 720p soi just render in 720p cause its still great HD quality! a 10 minute vid in 720p in vegas 12 takes me about 20- 25 mins maybe less.

depends on your specs, would spend an hour on my laptop (Toshiba Notebook) rendering a 10 minute video, then I tried it on an Alienware my stepdad owns and it took 10-15 mins
