Using YouTube's embed on my website. Any issues?

I have been thinking of revamping my website.
My audio player is a pain and I was thinking of using YouTube's player instead.
Right now people are finding me on YouTube and then heading to my website to find more music.
And I am losing out the views.
I thought of converting to YouTube embeds on my website instead.

I am not sure if it helps in the SEO, or breaks any terms of use etc.
Just want to be sure if it is ok.
I've heard that Google may not take to kindly to those that embed too many videos.
But these are my own videos.

Anyone knows?

Can't imagine that it would be a problem. I embed other peoples videos in reviews on my blog (for representation of their music) and never had an issue. In relation to SEO, I honestly don't know, if anything I'd imagine that it would improve it since you're videos appear to be more places which makes it look like they're more popular, although I could be wrong and anyone feel free to correct that :)

I embed my videos in my blog, and it's fine. If you're worried about SEO, then just use that within your own page's information. I don't know how embedding a video would affect that.

When I looked into it months ago, one possible gotcha I found was putting advertising on the same page as the embedded video. As long as you never put adsense ads on the same page as an embedded video I think you're good.

Is it same page or site wise?
Really where did you see this piece of info?
Thanks so much. I just wanted to be sure before I go start building a new site that I don't break any rules.

Just the same page. I looked into it again, and what the rule actually is is that there must be content on the page in addition to the embedded video, that has enough value to put advertising on. Look at the terms of service, section 4 D, the third bullet point: youtube.com/static?gl=CA&template=terms
The first half of this blog post neatly describes it: techulator.com/resources/12337-Can-we-use-AdSense-on-video-blogs-with-YouTube-videos.aspx

In terms of your website, I'd argue that your genre pages do qualify as having enough additional content (just as an example). Each genre page provides a service by grouping related content, and supplying additional information on each song.

I had an experience with one embedded video. I uploaded my video on YouTube how I failed at fishing and embedded the video on local fishing forum. I got more than 500 views within 3 days from that forum. Most of them were 100% watch time. I thought my video would be boosted up in the rank, but it was not the case. Just when I uploaded the video, I was in the first search pages. Just when YouTube registered all of those views, my video was not found in first 20 pages when searching the main keyword.
My conclusion was - YouTube thought my video is not worth mentioning in the search as I did not get any interaction with viewers (no likes/dislikes, subscribers from that video or comments).

I don`t know if it`s because the video was embedded or because it`s because the ratio between views and interaction. But hope this info will help you somehow.

Hey I was wondering how are you able to post video link in your comments? I tried embedding them but keep getting an error. Do I need to be a VIP or something?

This thread is 8 months old. Please don't bump very old threads, especially not to derail threads - It is likely that some of the people are no longer active here and it is very confusing for those who are. ^^

To have a video in your sig, members need to earn VIP by making good quality posts (no spam, binge posting or low quality posts) around the forum.

Thanks :)
