Using studio photo lighting for video?

Hey guys. So I was wondering. What do you think of using studio photo lighting for shooting video? My father used to be a photographer, so I have some sudio photo lighting equipment (studio flashes, whiteboxes, reflectors). The flashes give a constant light as well (yellowish though). Any thoughts? Also, I have a canon 600d (t3i) with a 18-55, f3.5. I want to get more glass, but can't decide on what to get. Is a 50mm a good way to go? Thanks

YES! Definitely use studio lighting! That's a HUGE part in making professional quality videos! I use studio lighting as well. If it's yellow-ish, you can always color correct during post production. :)

YES always go for good lighting
I use a ring light, used to use soft boxes they make everything so much better
also the yellowish light might be the light bulb your using
