Using an iPhone to record YouTube videos?

I use an iPhone to record a lot of the videos on my channel.

Why not? Whatever you got handy at the moment. There are plenty of accessories for phones as gimbals, external mikes, tripod accessories etc perhaps you will need some lights though:)
 
Of course! Phones have great cameras and there is a wide range of hardware you can use that will help! No sense going out and buying stuff if you aren't sure how much you want to do YouTube! :)
 
I used to use a Samsung Galaxy S4 (and 5 at one point) before getting a Sony handycam and then a Canon. The Galaxies actually had better quality than the handycam. No shame in it.
 
iPhone has a pretty good camera. If filming indoors you will need at least a couple of cheap soft boxes though else the camera will struggle for light and you will get a grainy or flickery video footage. Lots of natural light too. Find a bright spot next to a window.
 
Yes. Nothing wrong with that. A few low cost accessories can also improve the quality of your video. For example, you can get a tripod with a cell phone mount. If you are doing indoor video, lighting can make a huge difference too. The camera is just a small part of it.
 
When I started on Youtube back in 2008, I was using a camera phone that record at less than 240p.
Some cellphones nowadays record at 2160p.

So, yes! Absolutely yes, I think cellphones are a good camera to start with.

Absolutely! I used to use my iPhone for a bit until I bought a camera, but because I'm still struggling to get my camera quality up (because you need REALLY good lighting in order for it to look good), I'll occasionally still use my iPhone camera if I wanna record something right away!

Honestly, from what I've noticed, as long as the quality of your videos (like what you're doing and all that) is interesting, how good your camera is really doesn't matter that much!
