Username | Fact about channel <-- What?

So hello!
When I look around youtube i see people with channel names like, let's say: MonkeysAreCute | Gaming 'n s**t
Or something like that!
There's also a pretty big youtuber called: GhostSickness | The Best Storyteller

That little channel description thingy! Does it work for anything? Is it a feature on youtube I have missed? Should I do it??
I could go like: MonkeyManiac | Gaming-Commentaries-Awesomeness or something shorter...

I don't thing it helps at all. If anything I'm just annoyed by those people when scrolling through comments. But you might as well try it and see if it works and remove it if it doesn't.

But isn't it kinda nice knowing what the channel is about?? You know, if you only watch fifa videos, isn't it nice the the guy litterally calls himself: ILikeTacos | FIFA 'n Stuff?

That is the thing! I want people to know what my channel is about, but I don't want people to be annoyed!

I think people use that when it's like a series of videos of some sort to separate them from the rest. Like for example ThatcherJoe does this thing called Vlogmas and during that time he'll do his titles like The Christmas Tree | Vlogmas Day 3
And usually it's the same with gaming channels if they have a specific series. So like, if you're commentating on a specific game, you could do (title here) | Skyrim Commentary #3 (or whatever # it is).

I hate those people, Isn't it pretty obvious you do gameplay videos if you look at their channel, so why do they need to put it in their username??

It has nothing at all to do with their video titles. It's their channel name - the text name just below the banner that OP is talking about.

Yeah... But maybe you don't look at theor channels

It's often people who write comments / spam on other people's videos. It's basically an ad for their channel.
