Use of google earth/map??

Good morning everyone !!

I have a quick question. I am making a video where I kind of need to show something in google earth or google map ! I will take a screenshot and then insert it in my video and the question is , I am allowed to do that?

Youtube is owned by google so I don't think that there should be a problem but I really don't want to get in trouble if I am not supposed to use it !

Do you guys know anything about this?

I'm sure it's fine, I have used the zoom in a video once to zoom into a location for a music video and it was no issue at all

Hi,

Well contrary to what everyone has said above, it is not a simple "yes no problemo".

There are a few conditions with regards to the use of Google Maps and Google Earth. To cut a long story short, generally you may use their content in your videos but you MUST give credit. The way in which you must do this and all the information is outlined here: https://www.google.com/permissions/geoguidelines.html I suggest anyone using their content read that all the way through and make sure you follow the rules.


To everyone else:


I understand that you are all trying to help, but please only post in the copyright section if you have facts and sources to back up what you're saying. Copyright is a very sensitive subject and people's channels are at stake. This is NOT the section to post in giving advice to people if you're not 100% sure of what you're saying.

there is a slim to none chance that your video will be taken down by a simple picture, unless if its like a pirated stock photo hah. Unless if you are using google maps to leak people's s**t you're all good haha. :)
