Uploading videos on multiple platforms?

Youtube seems a very hard place for small people to grow. Has anybody ever uploaded videos ALSO on other platforms, like Dailymotion or Vimeo? I am planning to do the same, it may redirect some people on Youtube.
 
Problem with vimeo is that you have to pay money in order to get enough space to really upload videos unless that changed..
