Uploading On A Schedule...

Consistency...IS SO HARD.
Like I film every Friday and upload videos on Sunday and Wednesday.
I always use the schedule feature.
The only problem is I start panicking the moment I upload because I realize I have NOTHING to talk about next week.
Like it's hard to always have something to say!
Especially with my stupid brain that goes through ten topics per second :/

Aw! Come on now, buddy! It's not that hard. I mean, you don't have to have like substance or anything, really. I know people out there who simply scream like a little girl, while playing video games, and they are pretty big. You'll be fine! Talented person like yourself. Just keep it up!

Another thing you might fine useful, is the schedule upload option on YouTube. Simply click the upload button, select "scheduled" upload, and then proceed to upload the video as normal. You'll notice on the right (your right), you'll be able to enter the date AND time, you'd like your video to be published and sent out to the feeds. This is very helpful if you "bank" a few videos ahead of time, and upload them all, and have them ready to go out.

No doubt having a consistent upload schedule is important, but it’s not as simple as saying ‘putting out a new video every Wednesday guarantees more views and subscribers.’ Quality is more important that quantity. I would never suggest to upload a video for the sake of keeping up your schedule, you need to keep your quality as high as possible. Putting out a crappy video once a week isn’t going to get you very far. Having said that, a big back catalogue will make it more likely for people to subscribe to your channel, but not if you have a load of poor quality videos. If fact that might even put people off.

Lol, I never told people to do that. I said that is what I'm doing for my personal channel, nor did I say it was the only thing that mattered. I agree that quality is far more important. This is a just a tip for those seeking some guidance, nothing more. However, that being said, some people aren't able to make TOP quality videos. Since the thread was on a specific topic, I'm not going to go off on a tangent about quality, when I've made posts in the past about quality/quantity. Good points though.

Only to people that don't understand the context. I mean, I guess I could see where you're coming from, though it's nothing to make a huge fuss over, lol.

If scheduling videos stresses you out you are doing it wrong. Don't film Friday for Sunday and Wednesday because that will do nothing but bring you constant stress and concern.
Film Friday for 5 weeks from now's Sunday and Wednesday. Sit down one day, write 5-10 videos. Film them all. Then whenever you have ideas write them down throughout the week. Next time you go to film you have a noteboook filled with ideas. You film them. Your inventory gooes from 4-9 to 5-15. Keep doing this every week and you will never run out and never be stressed.

I currently have videos scheduled till late July. If I need to post something relevant to this month I will simply push a not relevant video back and upload a new one for now.[DOUBLEPOST=1394810407,1394810145][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes Quality is important, but if you don't treat YouTube like a business your channel will not see the love it deserves. Yes some people might get lucky but if you do it correctly then it will truly benefit your channel. I know guys who post amazing material, material I can't even begin to comprehend. But they only have a 100 subscribers and lack views. If they would build some consistency, build a schedule and do their schedule correctly they would start to see growth and continue to see growth.

Yes crappy quality videos won't really matter. But if the people creating these crappy videos have a business mindset and start treating YouTube in this mindset it will surely benefit their channel. Yes people might not see it at first, but when someone is truly trying. It shows. No matter the quality. And of course everyone starts somewhere and everyone has room to grow. So as these people continue to grow and build their brand they will have a good work ethic and know the ins and outs to their channel and how to do it right.

So, although there is more to being successful than just uploading frequently it is a darn good backbone.

Haha! Well that sorta does make me feel better! Either way it's been tough but I've managed so far. Mind you I'm still a newbie to YouTube so my word probably wont mean much! :D

Well its hard since I'm also juggling full time university. So between assignments, presentations and studying I start planning my videos on Thursday to film on Friday. I know that it's a really horribly unreliable way to do things but I really don't see how I can get that backlog of 5-10 videos right now. Not until the holidays anyway :(
