Uploaded Thumbnails Glitch?

aw :') thank you so much i just smiled so big seeing that :) you didn't even need to check out my channel but you did!!

and yes i've noticed the same thing you have with thumbnails. i guess i'm learning now to save every thumbnail...for a long time.. just in case it reverts.

Pleasure was mine! :) Keep up the great work! I think as long as you upload it right at the beginning, (as it while it's still uploading the video and then you upload the picture of the thumbnail), it should be fine. I haven't had any issues after doing that.

I think I'm uploading it at the same time? I mean, I publish videos directly from iMovie to YouTube on private, and once the video has been "shared successful" I edit all of the video info, add the thumbnail, and make the video public. I don't see an error when uploading the thumbnail, it works fine for like a few days, but then sometimes reverts to a frame..
Yeah that's separate. As soon as you save the video and leave the upload screen, YouTube considers it done and done as far as I can tell. Not sure why it's reverting to a default thumbnail though. I'd recommend uploading it directly via YouTube's upload page and then adding the thumbnail while you're on that page. I never seem to have problems doing it that way but any other time it can be iffy.

Okay! I'll try that. Thanks so much for your help.

I had the same problem the last two days, however I changed the size of the slide to 16:9 ratio in Powerpoint which I use for thumbnails and then it uploaded not problem. I think YT look for 1280 x 720 for thumbnails anyway, might be wrong though!!

The trick I found to this two methods :

1, make sure you keep saving all info changed when uploading and make sure the thumbnail is the first thing you add while uploading , sometimes when changing playlists while uploading the thumbnail will disappear just keep an eye on it and save all the time uploading

2.set the video to private while uploading that way it give you more time to sort things out

I've had a few times where Ive been uploading a short video and it's pretty much complete before I've even had a chance to rename it let alone upload thumbnail so I just set to private for short videos till I have all info and thumbnail complete

Hope this helps

This is why I have my default setting set to private. Especially since I can't be there for the entire duration of the upload and if I miss the finish then it'll automatically publish it before I get a chance to do anything to it at all. I don't know why more people don't use that feature to be honest, it cuts out so many problems like the vids not being in HD or FHD when published as well.

I do what Wolf said, make it to private, go out and do whatever, come back and do the description, thumbnail & title and then make it public, and share away! easier way of doing things.
