Uploaded Thumbnails Glitch?

Mae B

Posting Mad!
Has this happened to anyone else?!
I'll upload a thumbnail, save it, everything will look great, and then I'll look at my channel, dashboard, video list, etc., and in every instance the thumbnail is like.. not at all what I uploaded. It's like it has reverted back to a frame from the video.

I've tried checking this out on a different browser, by looking up my own videos in Search, and I still see the messed up thumbnail even though I know I've uploaded the thumbnail file properly.

Even when I "edit" the video, the thumbnail file is there, but displayed incorrectly - like a frame from the video.

WHY does this happen. Has anyone else experienced this :(

Its a bug from YouTube, most of the youtubers had it, they will fix it soon
Or else try to clear your cache
Or else upload the thumbnails once again :)

I had a problem uploading the thumbnail as I was about to publish the video. After I published it, I went to edit the info again and uploading the thumbnail without a problem. Until YouTube resolves that problem that is what I am doing.

Are you uploading the thumbnail at the same time that you're uploading the video? Or are you saving the video first then uploading the thumbnail later? If it's the latter it could be a cause of your problems because once you leave the upload page I've found that adding thumbnails can take longer. Some people have had to wait weeks for their thumbnails to update.

I'm having the same issue as Andy. As I go to publish the video, I get told there is an problem with the thumbnail. I just change it to one of YouTube's suggested ones, publish the video, then go back into the editor for it and put my custom thumbnail back on. :)

I think I'm uploading it at the same time? I mean, I publish videos directly from iMovie to YouTube on private, and once the video has been "shared successful" I edit all of the video info, add the thumbnail, and make the video public. I don't see an error when uploading the thumbnail, it works fine for like a few days, but then sometimes reverts to a frame..

It's your browser loading the older image most of the time, usually just use CTRL+F5 on the pages to force refresh of your cache for that page.

Had this issue with my very first upload and to this day, it shows the original thumbnail (in some platforms like facebook linked messages), even though I changed it. This was a couple months ago.[DOUBLEPOST=1428289407,1428289323][/DOUBLEPOST]
