Sounds to me like YouTube is taking the Twitch approach to advertising. Now, users can choose to pay to avoid any adds while still supporting their favorite YouTuber. This sounds like an awesome idea to me. This may increase some people's chances of making a career on YouTube. Im feeling pretty optimistic

No, you're not correct. Our rev/share agreement was not changed. It has always been 55/45.

You are partially right. There was no change this year in rev/share agreement between users and Google but there was a time when split on YouTube was higher. Years back.
