Upcoming Changes to MCNs & Monetization for Network Partners - Affiliate and Managed

I just wanted to clarify something. If you get moved to the "affiliate" section does that mean all your current videos which were previously monetized will be scanned for content id? Or will they continue to be monetized and only the new videos scanned for content id?
Videos are scanned against Content ID's database everyday, did you mean about monetization? If so, nothing is confirmed but I personally think Google will not want a backlog and will only review new videos for monetization eligiblity.

Actually from what I know up till now people who were under mcns were not scanned for content id (which resulted in this problem in the first place). The reason why the wave of content id claims erupted last week were due to the fact that people were moved in mcns from the old mcn system to the new "managed" and "affiliate", and most people were moved to affiliate resulting in the wave of content id notices. People who remain managed are not scanned for content id hence why tobuscus/pewdiepie and other big channels had no such problems as their videos were unscanned.

That's wrong, every YouTube video is scanned against the CID database upon upload.

The reason gamers are now getting valid and invalid claims is because lots more partners and companies are now tapping into Content ID and matching is a lot sensitive/accurate now from what I've heard.

Sorry but in this case you're wrong. Old MCN partners and the new "managed" are immune from content id and are not scanned, this is why they have instant monitization. Like I said above, this is why the wave of content id claims happened last week as people were moved from protected mcn to the "afflifate" program. However what managed partners are not immune from are copyright strikes that a publisher can issue via a report which can spell trouble for the MCN whos managing them.

Can you link your sources please? 2,500 of the channels that I managed previously were all subject to content matches when they uploaded material that was a RF in CID.

vg247.com/2013/12/13/99-of-youtube-gaming-channels-will-die-soon-copyright-strike-barrage-discussed/

On the Content ID changes coming for Affiliates and Managed users in January, our source added, “Starting Janaury, ‘affiliate’ partners = videos will be put into monetization review as opposed to the instant monetization we’ve all had for years, which is basically bad news for gaming channels as it takes YouTube days to review and there’s still no guarantee they’ll approve the claim unless you have permission from the company to monetize their IP.

“Managed” partners = exempt from all content ID claims and protected by both Google and its network. Instant monetization remains, etc. YouTube has told networks make your partners managed or affiliate. If the partner is affiliate, they can get copyright strikes and content ID claims, etc., and the network won’t be affected and won’t be responsible.

“If the network’s “managed” partners receive a single copyright strike throughout their entire “managed” partners whether that be 50 or 100, they get fined, penalized. 3 total copyright strikes is bad news for the network so they’ll only make MASSIVE and very valuable partners “managed” as they now share the responsibility of a copyright strike with a “managed” partner.

That quote doesn't say anything about "old MCN partners" being excempt from CID.

But it makes perfect sense to me.

The way CMS is set up is it does scans for content id of regular users and now the afflifated section under an mcn group. This way the big companies who have video content will make their video channels managed and not scanned for content id (so that they don't get claims against themselves). But this also applies to the other mcn users who are in the "managed" section.

The reason why so many people got hit with content id last 2 weeks wasn't because of a new content id system. That system is largely similar to what it was before. What happened was was hundreds of thousands of letplayers all got shoveled down into the "affiliate" section for scanning and this is where the claims arose from. This is why it seems like the new system is out in full force. Notice how it's only the letsplayers who are complaining en masse because they were all previously immune to content id claims.

This is also why big channels like pewdiepie, tobuscus, fat joe, game grumps and others have not made any videos about content id problems because they don't have any as they are managed and not scanned for content id.

How else would these users have instant monetization?

Can anyone help me in trying to tell if I am managed of affiliate? I seem to be able to monetize instantly, but can't find anywhere saying which I am.
