Unwritten Youtube rules you break knowingly and why

The title might be a bit confusing, but perhaps my answer will really serve to show what I mean.

With the channel title Guy Meets World, my friend recorded a parody track similar to the original Boy Meets World theme song that is twenty-six seconds long. He's touching it up, but once it's finished I will start placing that, along with a montage of clips from previous VLOGS at the start of my videos. Definitely goes against the suggested 3-6 second long intro structure, but I'm too happy with the way it's coming along to mind.

In addition to that, my other friend recorded a separate outro song.

I guess my main justification is structurally, when I edit with those two things in tact I get this warm feeling once I hit upload like I'm producing content that feels very "Series" like.

Well your montage will play in those beginning 26 secs alongside the theme, it's like a recap intro, not an intro on its own. The "rules" are mainly just guidelines anyways, people can get away with going a different route, just has to be good enough to get past the mindset of "get to the point".

Unless you break YT's terms of service, there're no rules. Do whatever the f*ck you want, and you might be one of those innovative newthinking contentcreators that everybody is going to like. Doing what everybody else says, has never evolved the world, only those who dares to do something new has. (i'm so wise.. but no, i actually mean it)

Haha, this reminds me of the good old days.
Used to have an intro that would peak so damn loudly at a certain point, almost every second comment used to be RIP earbuds aha. But hey, I was younger, I was just too damn into the intro I had created, and it was the epic hook before the huge drop in a metal song.

Used to take branding so seriously back then. Nowadays I throw in a black screen with the words "MANDATORY INTRO" for like 2 secs and get on with the video.

Both are breaking the unspoken rules, but hey, at least it shows some personality behind it.
