That is something i thought of, maybe it hadn't shown the views or something and then when it 'caught up' it's showing a load of views at once.

This sounds about right, or you popped up on a related video. If you wait 24 hours you can find out exactly where the new spike in views came from using analytics and update us
Analytics says the views were on "YouTube watch-page" and came from "YouTube search". Whilst it was nice to have a spike in views it doesn't feel i accomplished much as (the video was a terrible, earlier effort) and the retention was about 6%...they just about made it through the old intro haha!

It is odd that it's such a steady pattern though. I have never had it that "perfect" myself. I have had the token spikes in views, when it got shared (or perhaps featured on YouTube, I have never noticed it being featured though).
