Unlink Process

XiaoK

I Love YTtalk
So as we all know the process take 30 days to complete. But isit the decision gonna be made by the MCN them self? Or after 30days Youtube will automatically unlink you from the network? What if the MCN doesn't care for your unlink request?

AFAIK the network has the choice to either ignore by not taking action on the unlink request or they can accept the unlink request. Only some networks will take action and choose to accept the unlink request. Which network are you in and wanting to try this with?

Freedom, what if they ignore? if they ignore means I cant leave the network?

Freedom, what if they ignore?

Freedom doesnt, once you put in the request you are unlinked after 30 days :) It could be the other way around actually where if they just ignore the request then it unlinks automatically, I am not 100% sure on that but either way Freedom allows you to unlink from them without issue.

If the request is ignored, then you get unlinked in 30 days.

As far as I know, Freedom lets the unlink requests go through as they let anyone leave in 30 days.

Thanks for clarifying on that one, does that mean larger networks likely have to employ an unlink button clicker now just to prevent people slipping through the net? :D Imagine all the requests to unlink you must take action on or lose out.

means Youtube will automatically unlink me after 30days? even if the MCN doesn't give a damn?

Seems so regardless of the network, if they fail to take action as Kyle mentioned.

They can all be denied at once, haha

Thats lucky for the networks lol I couldn't imagine not having the ability to select all or mass deny them :D So that must mean that those that wish to leave who have hit unlink get theirs denied too and instead need to go through a manual unlink process through direct contact with the network support, I am guessing here but that would make sense to me :D

Networks can unlink you from their CMS whenever they want. Networks can even hold you longer past your contract ending date. Almost all the time, networks don't accept unlink requests before the contract ends (Freedom and no lock-in networks are different). Youtube doesn't do anything. Youtube doesn't know your contract or contract length or anything. The unlink request goes directly to your network.
