I've Got It
Definitely should never get a shout out from your good self again. How ungrateful!
That's awesome that you shout out people. There are always people who spoil the milk but don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I'm sure a ton of people have been super grateful to you and it's really cool that you're helping out small channels like that.About every four weeks, I unbox the newest case of Hot Wheels. I have viewers suggest a model or two that came out of that case for a chance at a shout-out in a Track Time video. I typically get 300-400 comments/suggestions.
In a couple weeks, giving viewers enough time to watch the case unboxing video, I make a Track Time presentation and test 16-24 models. It could be a multi-lane downhill race. It could be boosters, loops and curves. It could be a gravity track set-up. I change up the presentations to keep it interesting.
I pick the test, I pick the cars, then I go to the comments to look for somebody who suggested that car to get an on-screen shout-out.
My recent presentation is getting 100K views a week. Somebody who got a shout-out told me that they were bored with the event and they want another shout-out. Even though their shout-out comes after 10 minutes, my Analytics shows that the video has 20% audience retention at that point.
There are people who would be ecstatic to get a shout-out and be seen 20K times a week. Even still, there are those who greatly appreciate my efforts and the fact that they got a shout-out.
I keep track of who gets a shout-out so that everybody has a chance. After six months or so, they might get another opportunity.
Instead, it's not good enough. Guess who's never getting a shout-out ever again?
Sorry, I had to vent.
