unfair copyright strikes

It's probably UMG. (IMO) They are very unfair about using their music. I used "Renegades" by X AMBASSADORS in an Iceland vlog (was not monetizing) and just wanted my video to be watched in Germany (I have friends there)

I filed a Content ID appeal, and after a day or two, I got an email saying that it was rejected - they didn't read what I said in the text. Honestly, YouTube gives copyright owners a lot too much power if their content is flagged.

Of course you got rejected. What you're talking about has nothing to do with being unfair, it's blatant copyright infringement. This thread is an entirely different topic.
