Unable to Record for a While

So it looks like I may just be out of the game for a bit, which really sucks. My hardware just isn't good enough to do what I need it to do. Recordings drop 60-70% of their frames, and it just isn't quality content. It's a huge bummer, because I really was enjoying this.

Try recording some less demanding games untill you upgrade your computer?
It doesn't matter. I'm running on a five or six year old laptop, and The game I was recording was an emulated Link to the Past. Not a demanding game. I'm unfortunately just going to have to call it until I can afford to upgrade.

Did you think of using a different software, or recording at a lower resolution?

I don't really have access to any other software, I was using OBS, but don't know of many others besides Fraps. And as for a lower resolution, I could try, but I'm recording at 720 now and any lower and I'll lose HD. So I'm on the fence about that

Well, unfortunately I've never used OBS, but you could use Dxtory and use some codec's that aren't really that great quality but aren't demanding at all, or get Fraps and record in "half size"

If it is stuff like emulated snes games do you need full hd. Also if you have windows ten there is a good chance you can use the xbox recorder for it and it works pretty well from my experience.
