ugh Fan Finder -.-

In all honesty after seeing it in action more and more, I think they need to can the system. Those 5min+ videos are annoying and I'm guessing the content creator who I'm watching at the time, isn't getting paid for those fan finder ads either. I've had more channel ads than actual ads these past few weeks. Otherwise they need to add restrictions on the length of videos people can add to fan finder, like max 30 seconds - 1 min. I've had freaking tutorial videos popping up as ads lol

I will never understand why youtube doesn't do a cycle of channels daily on the channel page. Kinda like how tumblr's homepage has a different image on it everytime you log in. Would be a great idea for people to get noticed. Really hard to get your name and stuff out there.

That's actually a really good idea considering I get the exact same 2-3 videos for over a week now. I rarely even see normal ads anymore

When I went 1k, the FF said that it will take a while to process because there are a lot of people they had to match (I forgot the wording but hope y'll know what I mean).

I think it took a few months later.. when I was about 1200, I had the same message: We can't find any matches for your channel right now. We will occasionally try to run your ads.

I'm like, what? At first I thought maybe my healthy food niche is not popular so there is no match. But after looking around, the niche is pretty big. If anything, I'm the one behind. LOL.

This FF system is just frustrating... the so called "algorithm" they use for FF should seriously be put off because I think that formula is really stupid. Lately, for the past 3 weeks, I've been seeing these fellow makeup YTers (FF ads) that are promoted and its for Christmas (2013) promotion/contest and another ad that wouldn't make sense to you unless you followed or watched the YTer. And, I wasn't even watching beauty/fashion videos at all. LOL. It feels like they are only putting effort on promoting the super super popular YTers with the same outdated ad over and over again (please don't get me wrong, I'm not throwing shade/negative energy at them, I love their content and stuff but the promotional ads and in general this FF system really do not reflect on what I'm about to watch.)

And I assumed the purpose of FF is to promote up and coming YTers?

I was having some decent success with FanFinder on my vlog and tutorial channels. My gaming channel is too small and they aren't accepting that one yet though. However I haven't gotten any traffic / views from FanFinder since April 10 and not sure why.

I guess I'm one of the few here that have found success with Fan Finder which may be due to my somewhat larger channel size but I'm not too sure. I created a single, unlisted video about 55 seconds long for the sole purpose of using Fan Finder and I get roughly 300-400 views on average per day on it. A couple days ago it actually had a big spike for views (800+ Sunday and 1000+ views on Monday) and this spike directly correlated to my subscribers gained for those days allowing me to break a personal record of over 350 subscribers gained in a single day, two days in a row. The video did take a couple months before it was actually used but I'm extremely happy with the results and I recommend you guys stick with it and keep trying.
