Clicking on this article probably means you want your channel to grow. Whether you have 5 subscribers, or you have 50,000 subscribers, we all want our channels to do well. I'm sure that the channels with 50,000 subscribers have probably thought of these two methods which is probably why they have so many subscribers. The two methods I want to focus on today are cross promotion and collaborations.
Cross Promotion:
This really is not that hard. All you have to do is ask someone with a similar channel in both size and content if they would be interested in mentioning you in one of their videos, and you would do the same. You could also put each other in your featured channels section which could help your viewers find other channels like you or just channels you like. A single mention at the beginning or end of a video is all it takes for some of your viewers to check out another channel if they really like you, and you both benefit from the exchange. If you want a more personal and probably a better way of growing, the next option will be right for you.
Collaboration:
You've probably all seen videos on YouTube with people from more other channels in the same video. This is what is known as a collaboration. It could be as simple as combining two videos into one, but it could also be a face to face meet up. Most of the time, you won't have to meet one another in person, but it is really fun to make videos with another person who shares a common interest with you. Now how can you do a collaboration? It's actually quite simple. All you have to do is ask someone of a similar channel size and content to do a collaboration with you. If they say yes, you can move on to make a video with the other person or people. When you upload the finished product, you will notice a lot of your subscribers at least checking out the other person's channel, and when the other person mentions that they did a video with you, their subscribers will at least check out your channel. This method is definitely my favorite way to grow your channel.
There are certainly other ways to grow your channel like SEO, social networking, and simply making high quality content, but these ways are great when you have somewhat established yourself on YouTube and are looking for new ways to branch out. I hope this post was helpful to you, and I look forward to seeing a lot more collaborations and cross promotion.
