The All-Round Lad
I clicked into the ad just there, the site seems solid...however I dont really have a full proof project that could be funded at the moment.

Anybody else see it, or use it yet?

Yeah I see the banner, but I don't think i'm going to use it. I just don't really see the point of people giving money to other people so they can get their equipement. In my time we had to save money if you wanted something, that was way more fun.

Meh just another Kickstarter. Another reason for people to e-beg.

Saw one person want like $5000, and his channel only has like 20 subs. Sorry, but I'm not going to fund something that I most likely won't get my money's worth.

I think unless they have a legit project that they are working on, they shouldn't really be asking for money. For example, let's say they did short movies, and had a dedicated team but needed better equipment to improve the quality of the content, I would happily back it.

Asking for money just to get you started on YouTube is stupid because how do we know that they are going to continue on with YouTube. They could easily be spending the money on something else.

I agree that people shouldnt ask money to get started on youtube because they cant provide proof for quality or whatever they present but if one is already an established youtuber and needs a little help along the way and if there are people whiling to chip in because they like his project then why not? Calling it e-begging or "not the good old jar filled money days" is stupid. Its a new platform. A way for people to support their favorite youtubers even more. Why hate on something that is so new and is yet to grow?

Personally I'm gonna try it. I'm going to ask for just over $300 for a mic for my camera that I don't have the money for because I'm unemployed. I've been a dedicated YouTuber for over 2 years now with over 1K subs with quality content, by those standards I should be qualified to do this so I will XD

I'm going for 500k, so I can buy a ton of gaming PC's. I'm sure people want to do that for a person with 6 subs... xD

EDIT: Also is there a fee involved?

If you make the money by the deadline, you pay a 5% fee. If not then there is a 10% fee.
