Seriously though, the owners of YTTalk would not allow us to keep advertising here if we were abusing channels in any way. Our tools use a lot of the YouTube API which is why we request so many permissions. If you have questions about any specific permissions we request, just let us know and we'll tell you why we request them.
As for our tools, almost all of our tools have been requested by our customers. We're really trying to make useful tools that help you promote your videos and save you time (so that have more time to make great content). Also it's totally integrated into YouTube.com so you don't have to go to a separate site to use them.
Finally Heartbeat is a great plugin as well. We just partnered with Freedom! and all Freedom! partners get the TubeBuddy tools for free.
