I think they will do fine. Since People of the same Age are having most of the time the same Interests and probably almost the same School/Working Hours I`m pretty sure they will maybe find that Way easier someone to play with and Record something or help each other out on something else if someone need something like Help in Game X since most of them will probably play it anyway.
You Folks should make sure that you are also create an Group on Steam/Origin/Xbox Live/PSN so you can see each other Online too when you play Games.
And make sure that the Girls always choose which Games the Group is playing since the Boys are most of the time are playing the same Games which is kinda boring over the Time
