Trying Not to Abandon Sony Vegas

Oh I just use it for editing. It links to HitFilm, which is great for compositing. I think the issue might be the AMD hardware. I've heard before that it's not great with AMD.

Also I didn't realize my hardware was that old :'( Maybe I'll just stick with premiere. Or try upgrading. I had the trial for Vegas a week or two ago and it still did this same thing.
 
I used Vegas 10 Pro for the longest time. About a year and a half ago I switched to the Adobe suite and never looked back. I have more control, can save footage that previously would have been ruined due to brake noise or pops in the audio. You couldn't get me back into Vegas if you tried.

pretty much the same with me except with vegas its just faster and more responsive on my hardware and less crashes
 
Yeah, I'm switching to Adobe for certain. Already had the subscription and I'm tired of the stability issues I've always had. I know that they were likely because of using the wrong file types, I had older hardware early on, and am using an AMD processor, but I have a newer pc now and Premiere gives me significantly less problems. If I load up too many CC apps and projects at the same time while doing other things, I'll freeze things up for a couple minutes, but that's about it. I love the Vegas/Hitfilm combination, but Adobe's cool too. I will miss my old "suite", but Adobe's been pretty cool so far.

The CC package also makes it real affordable if you don't mind renting it instead of buying it for a huge, flat fee.

Interesting. I have had crashes with Vegas, lost work too. Adobe has crashed on me too, but it always autosaves and never causes me to loose an hour of work. And crashes are far more rare with Adobe no matter what I am doing. I just like having the control Adobe gives me. It seems to encode a little better too.

As far as I know they no longer allow you to buy the latest version. The last CD version you could buy is horribly outdated at this point. You wouldn't be able to edit some formats and that is just a no go for me. So I pay the monthly subscription fee, and luckily YouTube revenue pays for that. It leaves me to pay for everything else (cameras, gas... my time) but my channel has never hit the level where it would sustain itself so I am just happy it pays for some of my hobby venture.
 
Yeah, it's all creative cloud now. Subscription only, which sucks BUT it ultimately sold me because it's 75 a month without a contract, but I get to use all of Adobe's software. All of it. And it's kept up to date at all times. It would cost thousands to keep up to date with new releases every year otherwise, so I don't really mind anymore. And the programs are really, really stable, albeit a bit slow to start up at times, but they're great.

I don't think some people realize how many programs are in Adobe's Creative Cloud. It's like at least 10 programs isn't it? I only used a handful of them (premiere, audition, indesign, after effects & photoshop) thus far. It's actually a very diverse arsenal that can cover video works, image works, sound design, web design and even book formatting/publishing.

Yeah there are a ton. It has flash (animate) which has no real substitute that can approach it. I also needed acrobat pro to edit something at work and remembered I have a subscription and used that. I wanna try the audio program in there too, but haven't yet. Overall I'm pretty happy with the suite, but they take up a lot of resources when starting up on my pc. Something's causing random lockups with premiere, but I think some of that was due in part to an accidental re-install onto the c drive when it's getting full
