Try Harder or Give Up?

So recently my channel has been in quite of a slump. I have been stuck at 100 subs for 4 months now - part of that is due to the fact I haven't been uploading as much as I used to and not being as active in forums.
I really want to turn around and get it growing again, like it used to, but I just don't think I have it in me to do so.​
I have been really focused on music now, trying to produce my first song, which is taking up a lot of my time. YouTube took up a lot of my free time when I was uploading twice a day, every day. I really enjoyed doing it while it was in its prime, but I just don't feel like its worth it now.
I barely crack ten views and it is a rare occasion if I get a comment. I haven't done anything different personality or content wise, but I just feel like there is always someone better out there people could watch.​
I have watched my friends' channels grow tremendously around me, some of them without even using forums, but basic social media.
I guess it is just a basic loss of motivation, but I am honestly not sure what to do. I have thought about closing my channel on numerous occasions yet there is just something that is preventing me to do it. Sorry for the wall of text and if you read through the whole thing, I appreciate it.​
 
I was stuck at under 100 subs for around 8 months and over the past few months and regular uploading (everyday mon-fri) I've gotten to 200! Just don't give up ^-^
 
Why should anyone give up something they are passionate about? And you don't necessarily need to try harder, you just need to try new methods of succeeding in what you love to do. Personally uploading two videos a day is a bit much unless you are doing daily vlogs and commentary. But even so that is a bit much. You should simply just take a different approach and find new ways of getting your material out there. Best example is a simple collab. I am a filmmaker who needs music made for his videos and so are a lot of other people on here. You make one song and let a YouTuber use it, then your work is seen by a whole new audience. They plug you and then you get new traffic and you begin to grow. Keep collaborating keep growing keep being happy keep building new e-friends and keep on doing what you are passionate about =)
