Traditional (old-school) annotations not showing on mobile

Haha, I didn't see the edit of your post before I made mine. Yeah. But the thing is, no one clicks on the watermark... If YT plans to make cards do everything that annotations do, they need to add that.
I agree. You should be able to see your next video playing instead of just a small "i" that you only see if you hover over it... If you could move it around and add multiple, that would already help. Then you just put the card in the center of your next video or something.

Right now, I'm thinking of making a card with playlist links plus the in-video-thing that shows up on every video. Is there a card with a subscribe button? I mean, the watermark is one but hardly anyone knows...
The watermark is still a subscribe button as far as I know, but I don't use it as I don't like where it's positioned since cards came along. You can use a picture of the subscribe button as the watermark, kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I've started molding my videos into my outros/end cards i.e. I no longer have just an outro after the video, I'll take the last portion of the video, the bits where I'm saying bye or ending the video, and place it in a section of my end card, I don't care if it's distracting because that's what I want, I want to catch the viewer off guard and catch their attention before they click off if I can. Before I used to have music start playing before the outro was about to start but that acts too much as a warning which usually triggers a person to click off before the video is done. youtu.be/7e0rfmBsuGo?t=4224 this is what I mean I've linked the last portion, I sort of got the idea from AlloySeven, I thought it was a good idea because when you're "signing off" distracting people isn't an issue since you're just yapping about subbing and things like that lol

Damnit, I was thinking of using the "Featured content" option (in addition to a card) because it's more prominent than the little "i" and also shows a thumbnail, but I just found out that you can't set the start time AND "Featured videos or playlists will not show on videos using cards." What the F?? :yuck2:

You can definitely adjust the start time of a featured video in your channel settings. I did not know about the featured videos not showing up when cards were used though... As I said... Google are stupid lol

I can't test it so I'm going with what the YT help page says:
  • Optimize timing: If selected, YouTube will try to choose the best time to show your promotion, based on past viewer behavior in each video. If a customised start time is also been specified, this time will be used as a fallback if no better time can be determined.

I know right, that doesn't make any sense to me. I guess YT will soon off the Featured Content feature too.

Yes that's correct, I'm confused why are you telling me this? lol

Won't be surprised if they do, although the featured video thing lasts about 10 seconds I think. I don't think they'll get rid of it so soon as they only just spruced up the featured content feature a bit with the not-so-recent-newish ability to feature it on your home page for returning subscribers too.

Because it says that YT will most likely ignore whatever start time you set. That's a no-no for me, I'm a perfectionist so I'd want to set the time down to the second and frame :D

It's really weird though because YT are promoting their cards left, right and centre and if you can't use the two together...
