Totally Realized Something...

That's a really good attitude to have! It can be really easy to find yourself getting lost in the numbers, so I think it's a pretty great idea to have that stuck in the back of your mind somewhere, that it's all about having fun and doing what you love. That's what I try to tell myself!
 
It's the right idea. Trying to hard for others who may not show up will take away from the fun of it. If you really do want popularity, it's always been said every one who broke out "wasn't even trying "

When you're small it's best focus on what is trending and to combined vid on that and share them around the internet. The problem is until you have that fan base, you won't get as much screen time as you would like. Don't worry, we shall all get there eventually.
 
That's the right attitude :) It's just like any other art form. In the beginning it has to be about you and what you like, and if people like it that is always a bonus. The more you do it the better you get and hopefully more people will gather around you and what you do. There is always the aspect of numbers and subscribers, but if you don't do it for yourself to begin with you will never succeed :)
 
Honestly - everyone cares about numbers as much as they like to NOT admit it. Of course it's fun but theres a deeper meaning inside of everyone that wants it to be viewed by many. Everytime we hit that upload button there's a small glimpse of hope that maybe we will blow up (not like that). IMO - anyone who says I DO IT ONLY FOR FUN is bs'ing themselves. It can be fun and there is nothing wrong with wanting views. Otherwise, why is anyone even on this forum really? Why care about bettering yourself or your content if it's ONLY for "funsies" T_T

Edit: With a "FUN ONLY" attitude you'll make it nowhere, you need to to want to succeed, to be better. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be noticed for your skills or personality. You think everyone in the Olympics, those who win the Gold Medal did it for fun? Anyone who's made it anywhere ONLY did it for fun? Come on. Wake up people. Lol you can have fun and strive to succeed too, there's no need to hide that fact.
 
if its something you want to do for the views and subs, you have to accept that you will need to work hard for several years most likely before you start to get only slightly big, overnight success takes years

LOL wow. How Dare you accuse me of "b.s.ing" myself! You don't know a thing about me! You don't know what I am doing with the rest of my life. YouTube is not my life. It's a fun, little hobby that I enjoy doing because it is FUN I am sorry that you cannot just enjoy making videos for the fun of it like I can.
Oh, and you want to know why I am on this forum? Because I love meeting people and talking to people that do share a similar hobby as my own.
 
For me, seeing that people watched my video. Just makes me happy and gives me a boost.
When I see more and more people watching, it tells me that I'm doing something right.

It's a nice attitude to have though.You should make videos because you enjoy making them. (Then it doesn't feel like a chore)
 
I mean a care about viewers to an extent. Of course if I post a video and no one watches I get a little discouraged, but I also get what you're saying about how you're just having fun.
