Took a hiatus..

Doom Video Vault

I Love YTtalk
So yes, I took a hiatus due to things slowly getting to me stresswise and other places but it's extended until the beginning of 2015. Has anybody taken long hiatuses such as this just to cool off from the whole Youtube thing?

Not yet, but I think it might end up happening soon!
Once you commit to YouTube, there's no going back :help:!!

No, but seriously, it helps us commit to our schedules and upload :)

Well I know that Youtube can get really stressful sometimes when things aren't going your way, but I think a short break is okay. As long as you dont get in the habit of stopping for long periods of time, sure why not?
I'm personally taking a break because of a computer upgrade. But will soon get back on the youtube bandwagon!

The last time I did this was last year for about a month (Oct-Nov?) and I resumed schedule afterwards. Besides, I have the schedule on my channel description so I'll know.

Ya, sometimes there are just dipps in the performance of a channel and getting your mind off youtube can be really good.

I just did recently. I just posted a new video discussing updates for my channel and that sort of stuff. But I hadn't put up anything else since early August, and it was just a "cop-out" channel promo haha. Life just gets busy at times, so I think it is fairly normal for people who don't have a million subs and millions of views. :P

How do you make update videos, just sitting in front of a camera, or do you have some kind of visual?

It depends really. I generally try to use visuals or bold texts to emphasize things, but this time around I just sat in front of my camera and hashed out the details of my channel's near future while utilizing jump cuts and a little medley playing in the background.

TL;DR If I am feeling lazy, I just make bad jokes into a camera for 2-3 minutes. Haha

I think just sitting down and having an honest talk with your subs really shows them how much you care. (like what you do)

Yep, multiple times. Sometimes, stress and life and health issues and other obstacles get in the way of YouTube video making. I make videos when I can and when I want to. Quite frankly, when my depression has gotten really bad or I'm sick to the point of being hospitalized yet again, I just don't feel like putting in all the effort to keep up on my channel. It's also kind of sad to me because YouTube isn't really my passion anymore. There are a lot of other things taking up my time these days, and that's okay because that's how I want it. But it feels like the part of my life where YouTube was a priority is over.
