Too Much Background Noise!

As the title says my videos have way too much background noise. I do live commentaries of me playing really just about any type of game, you can hear me and the game fine, but in the background you can hear my mouse and keyboard when in-use.

I use a set of Turtle Beach X12's, and I see others using the same type of headset yet they have no background noise. I have tried several times to adjust the recording level, but it's still there no matter what I do. I have thought about not doing live commentaries, but I love the feeling of having to make stuff up on the spot, so that would defiantly be my last choice.

So my question is do any of you have any idea or solution to this annoying background noise, or do you have any tips on how the pros do it? Thanks is advance!

I know there is a free programme called Audacity that can remove background noise.
Do you know how to remove background noise with audacity? If you do know how to do it, can you do a whole video at once, or do you have to remove each bit one by one?

There are tutorials on youtube but as far as i remember you just select an area and it will remove all the selected noise througout the video. Then again I could be wrong :p

This is definitely out of the question - can you imagine if OP would have to delete every single click from keyboard and mouse? There's probably thousands of them if he's playing the game.

Protip : When I record voices and sound effects for my videos, I put myself and the mic under a blanket, that way we have a "cocoon" that gets rid of most the stuff that happens in the background.

You can also look at what mic you use. You could try a head set or a wired clip on mic. The mic you want to look at is one that you can get as close to your mouth, that way you will pick up more of your voice and less of the background noise.

I tried watching a tutorial video for how to remove background noise, the video says using audacity so I did, but when I get the profile sound to remove and I do it, it screws my voice up big time, it makes me sound like a robot, so I was wondering does anybody that uses audacity know how to work around this?

By the way thanks for all of the responses they were all very good!:happy2:

The problem with programs the “remove sound” is that they don’t actually remove it they reduce it. You can’t really remove a sound that you are talking over.
The best thing to do is to listen to the room noise carefully before you start filming and see if you can eliminate it.
