To My Fellow Female Youtubers

I feel like this is a whole other discussion, but yes, if you want to break it down to an absolutely generalized, superficial, stereotypical level then:

- For female viewers, the girls need to be pretty (-> "I want to be her") and the boys need to be pretty (-> "I want to be with him")
- For male viewers, the girls need to be pretty and the boys need to be funny

I hope I'm wrong though.

This is true. I mean there are exceptions, but this is like the music industry.

I mean there are some who arent conventionally gorgeous, but many of the famous beauty bloggers are already well... beautiful! I feel like they could wear a bin bag and look stunning!

My audience seems to be mainly male orientated and I do get messages on FB and Youtube commenting on my looks (although I'm nothing special hahaha). I cover mainly things like metal music and nirvana though which is male dominated...

Anyway. Keep being a funny girl! I have a friend whos a comedy youtube, and she is hilarious! Her channel is really growing because she makes people laugh.
No matter what stick to what you enjoy as at the end of the day, it will show in the content.

(And tbh, I think all women have been tempted to do "hauls" and crap...lol)

I like how the topic is 'to my fellow female youtubers' and mostly guys are commenting back. Let the ladies respond guys before you jump all over the topic. They got this.

Excuse my ********, but I wanted to say this, these titles of 'Youtuber" or "Veelogger" is just stupid to me. Why can't people say "I'm a video maker who makes veelogs". Either way it's mundane thing to give yourself a title like that. It's like you title your self as "a professional sneezer".
I know I mentioned this before, but it really comes into this.

Also, if you are, you shouldn't be discouraged if someone (or their fans) call themselves a professional veelogger or whatever. That doesn't mean you suck in comparison.[DOUBLEPOST=1410484669,1410484641][/DOUBLEPOST]

... lol Nirvana.

Females are a natural attraction to guys and girls. Either its on social media or in person. It always works better for a female you know why? Cuz both genders prefer the feminine side and features. Now look at some most successful male youtubers.. Shane Dawson? Joe Graceffa? Tyler Oakley? Yeah.. My point is, those males who get called gays even if they're not they're more successful because either they look feminine or they like same stuff as girls or they have some specific feminine features or something and they are the ones who tend to be more appealing and successful because of that. I bet Jenna Marbles who studied human psychology knows this very well.
That's garbage in my opinion. Personally I prefer watching males over females. You wouldn't call WeezyWaiter or VSauce effeminate, would you?

I think it just depends. The first videos I watched on Youtube were beauty videos because I'm makeup obsessed but that's specific to what I like. I would watch a male makeup artist just the same. Since then I watch mainly vloggers and comedy vloggers male and female.
