Tips on How to get a semi-viral video

Ok. So the lesson that is learned here is that dont take notes from Phil Defranco or Whatthebuck, because the audience will be misled by the thumbnails and titles. Ill be honest to say that I was influenced by them.

Well you can always try to find a middle ground. You can edit the thumbnail with the word "vlog" or something at the bottom, so you know you covered your ground as much as you can. Or make the first line in the description, because it can be viewed from a thumbnail preiview, make it something like "an opinion piece".

Making good thumbnails and description, which dont lie, yet still capture the essence of the video in a potentially viral way is really hard.

This guy used to work for screwattack, his sole job was to analyses youtube algorithms and find ways of being at the top of SEO. Now he has his own channel, and of course its doing amazing, because it used to be his job.

Check it out, how he does description and thumbnails, because he has that "hyped and scandalistic almost" title yet at the same time, he is not lying or trying to trick a person into clicking the video.

There is a big difference between "using any method to catch the attention" and "being disrespectful" : )

Here is the channel I talked about:

And one more thing, as I said before sorry if I came off hard, I have a tendency to jump the gun sometimes, but its one of those things, that if I were a fan of football, or this was a subject that I love, and I would have clicked to see its a vlog, I would have been one of those who clicked dislike, since the initial impression did not match the actual video, in my case. : )

Have you seen WhatTheBuck's channel stats?

He has pretty much the lowest engagement of any big channel I've ever looked at, frequently losing subscribers each month and getting horrible viewership for the channel size. I'd say that's alot down to misleading text/ images and typically very low quality content (to get it out quick while the trend lasts)
