Tips on first vlog?

I've Got It
I plan to do my first vlog soon and was wondering what do I do? What do I shoot what do I say? Any tips are appreciated.

i say dont do it, why would you do vlog its not like your voice, face, or subscribers will increase if you do it. your channel is a gaming type so why make gamers want to watch your vlogs theres no reason, no game, just boring old talk in a gaming channel.
 
When you say vlog, do you mean like a vlog that showcases what you did that day, or do you mean vlog as in a video where you put the camera in front of you and talk about a certain topic? I ask because my advice would be very different depending on which you'd like to do.

Definitely go for it!

Some tips for your vlog would be if you're inside, make sure you check your lighting and sound. Try not to have background noises if you can. I like to add a little touch of music to mine, which you can find on the internet, just make sure it doesn't overpower your speaking audio if you have any. Personally I enjoy seeing what's going on rather than seeing someone's face when out in public, so if you're out and about (ex: at the mall) try to show us where you're at, what you're doing and not just your face the whole time. Most importantly have fun! If something feels not fun when you're doing it, it'll show on camera. Just show yourself having a fun time and engaging with the audience and you should be set.

Got it. Here are a few tips from my own experience doing vlogging:

1) Record as much footage as possible, but cut it down to only the best parts of your day when editing

2) Plan out what you're going to be talking. I don't think you should make an exact script, but unless you're' good at improv, you should have a rough idea of what you'll be saying about the things that you're doing. At the very least, think of what you want to say before turning the camera on

3) Watch other daily vloggers to see what their style is. It can be a really good way to figure out how to vlog effectively

Honestly, your first vlog is gonna be one that you look back at and laugh anyways so might as well have some fun with it. Do whatever you wanna do! Just sit in front of the camera or have the camera follow you around and do whatever you want to do :D

I think James makes a good point here. I think it's important that you understand that unless you're incredibly gifted and are basically God, your first vlog is not going to be the best video you ever make. I remember my first vlog (and my first vids in general actually) were so bad that I actually ended up taking them down haha.

So when you make your video, like James says, just have fun with it! Don't be too hard on yourself or try to be perfect or anything :) You're going to get way better and way more comfortable as you practice, so no need to stress or over think the 1st vlog
