Thumbnail strategies

I Love YTtalk
While I don't make fancy thumbnails like most channels. I stage the pic or snag a screenshot. I have working on not have a key feature in the lower right because YouTube puts the (minute:seconds) there. I also have been avoiding putting a key feature in the center as well because when the video is Embed, there is the Play icon in the middle. I'm really happy with today's thumbnail! Bright, colorful, nicely framed, and nothing important is blocked.

Share one of your favorite Thumbnails!

YouTube's time not blocking anything:
(ignore the sizes, I just grabbed screen-shots)

nice ya I try to work around those things on thumbnails I still use working in most but I try to make it big enough to read and have nothing block it as well.

I had to modify my "AdventureCraft' thumbnails a few times because the Time Overlays and the play button we're blocking key features. It's my personal favourite, so I figured I'd share it. :)

I've been doing this for my IRL videos, I'm quite keen on it, I take a frame from my video, gaussian blur and a decent sans serif in the middle of the image. Works quite well imo

..Even if the "I'm Back" one makes me look like a velociraptor..
