Whats the best software to use for thumbnails, free or cheap preferably... ?
Haha ! I avoid it for a whole other reason mainly because I work on Photoshop so I use that to make thumbnails Mind you I've always been lucky and able to get Photoshop on a student discount & now my boss bought it me for work so I guess gimp maybe your only option just it's a bit... weird I think. Maybe Paint.net is your best bet, never used it though.I use Paint.net with the plugins pack. Regardless of what I use I'm bad at photo/image editing but it get's the job done for what I need. Some people also recommend Gimp. I always avoided it for it's name.
YouTube asks for 1280 x 720 pixels.@AndrewReviewYou What is the sizing for thumbnails so they dont look big or dont fit?
Well I usually leave my thumbnails in 1080p and they upload fine. But with Paint.net I adjust the quality when I save it. I drop it down to about 80% or I fiddle with it until I get the file size to around 150-200Kb.[DOUBLEPOST=1381930124,1381930054][/DOUBLEPOST]@AndrewReviewYou What is the sizing for thumbnails so they dont look big or dont fit?
Yeah, I found the UI in Paint.net looked more appealing than Gimp. I did have Gimp installed but from what I recall at the time, it confused me. It may have been updated since then, I'm not sure.Haha ! lol nah, it sort of looks like the Paint UI combined with older Photoshops and it's way more powerful than MS Paint at times. It's free, so can't hurt to try it out. EDIT: I think the .net at the end was because they may have used VB.net originally to make it.What is paint.net? Is it just your standard windows paint?
So what do i do to get paint.net ?lol nah, it sort of looks like the Paint UI combined with older Photoshops and it's way more powerful than MS Paint at times. It's free, so can't hurt to try it out. EDIT: I think the .net at the end was because they may have used VB.net originally to make it.
