Thumbnail Software

Any free software like GIMP would be perfect. Anyways recently I found a way to let your viewers better read your video titles. Check out my latest cover of Thinking Out Loud where I screen captured one frame from the video with the title and used it as my thumbnail. No extra work, easy to read, most relevant. Give it a shot! :)

I make all of mine in GIMP. Photoshop offers a lot of complex and advanced tools, but for tiny little thumbnails most of them are irrelevant. GIMP offers you everything you need.

Pixlr and Gimp are definitely the ones that come to mind. If you have a Mac (which I don't so I can only help so much), there are a lot of one time payment software of the App store that rival photoshop.

While Photoshop is definitely the best image editor available, you do NOT need that much horsepower to make a good, clean thumbnail. A photo from the video or a photo you took and some big, bold text is all you need to make a good thumbnail. Pixlr and Gimp should be perfect for that kind of stuff! :)
