Thoughts on the new YouTube layout?

Hey guys! Have any of you checked out the new YouTube layout at youtube.com/new? They've gone for the whole material design feel. Personally I think it looks a lot cleaner and there's now a dark theme which I think looks awesome. What are your thoughts?
 
It looks nice. The changes are subtle but stylish. And the dark theme is great. But the blown up thumbnail for the latest video on my page is a lower resolution than it should be. It's like they increased the image size of the reduced image instead of decreasing the size of the original file.

That's not good. Anyway, it's still in the testing phase so lets hope they sort all that stuff out when the update is 100% complete and working.
 
I honestly have to say the only thing I like about it is the dark theme lol Well.. I'm one of those people who doesn't really look at the homepage of youtube. Everytime i go to youtube im instantly searching for something, not looking for suggestions.
 
I think there are some great changes, but I'm not sure that all the functionality is still there. I'm going to have to keep exploring to figure everything out, but I'm not the best person with change so I'm trying to keep a very open mind.

After using it for a bit, I've realised that there's some missing stuff. For example, I can't add channels to my Featured Channels. But since it's still under development let's hope this will be sorted out before for the completed upgrade comes out[DOUBLEPOST=1496076508,1496076386][/DOUBLEPOST]

Agreed. Would be nice to see a feature that promotes small/upcoming YouTube channels. I know they tried something like that earlier in the year but it was done really poorly and they removed it
 
I actually really enjoy the new YouTube layout. I will be tempted to make a video on this in the near future and follow through with the new updates and such; considering my channel is actually in the works now for anything and everything YouTube related :) I had absolutely no clue this was taking place in the YouTube scene, but glad I did. Smooth, sleek design and well also something to talk about!
 
I like it! The design is definitely an improvement, but as everyone else has said, it's still new and could stand to improve. I'm sure that as they update and add things, the functionality will catch up with the design. It takes a bit getting used to though
