Thoughts on commenting on other videos?

Well for me, I only comment on a video because I want to and it interests me, and/or I have an opinion. I've never ever ever commented like 'oh hey great video, plez check out mah channel!' because it's just cringey in my eyes. I left a comment on one of hellthyjunkfood channel about pringles lol, and it got some awesome engagement and I gained about 10 subs off that comment. But really for me, I only comment if it's a natural thing I'd want to do.
 
Yeah it definitely, If you leave a good comment some people will be inclined to check out your channel and if you have good enough videos you might even get a sub.
 
I think it depends. If it's a big youtuber, I don't see it affecting your views or subs. If it's a smaller one, if you are consistent, you could get at least the youtuber to check you out and maybe even shout you out
