Thoughts on Canon 5d Mark 3?

Well thanks for the input! I do videos mainly and it is right near the tope end of my price range. The pro levels are a bit pricey lol.

Hmm if you have a budget I would recommend getting a 6D if you want full frame, then using the extra cash for glass and hardware... like a mic, cuz you'll need a mic.

The Canon 5DMK3 is a great camera to use, it was the last camera I owned. It has significant upgrades for the ergonomics over the 5DMK2, better low light sensitivity, and complete elimination of moire/aliasing issues.

Yeah I have heard a lot of that. I am really needing a good low light camera because my lighting equipment is not extensive.[DOUBLEPOST=1376454556,1376454461][/DOUBLEPOST]

I haven't done very much research on the 6D. How does it stack up against the Mark 3? And I already have a good mic, but I still have a long list of equipment I would like to have.

For video and for uploading to YouTube, it's comparable. The money you save though is well worth it:

With the extra $1600 I would get a good L prime or a few rails, lighting etc...

Anyhow, I shot with a 7D + Rode videopro mic + 24-105 L in my sig video. And the quality of that body is good enough for what I do.

The Canon 6D has better low light sensitivity than the 5DMK2 and 7D, however it still contains the moire and aliasing issues. For web video it's really negligible in terms of quality. However if you are doing professional gigs then that extra image quality from the 5DMK3 and ergonomics makes a huge difference if you shoot day in and day out on paid work.

Yeah that extra $1,600 would be nice. There is a lot of gear I still need to get.[DOUBLEPOST=1376546522,1376546372][/DOUBLEPOST]

I have heard that a lot of places about the moire and aliasing in the 6D, which are my only concerns right now about it. I will most likely go for the 5DMK3 since I will be doing a lot of professional. Thanks for your input!

Depends what you want to use it for.
They filmed some of the race track scenes in Iron Man 2 on the 5D Mk II, and that's the old one.
