Thoughts on Canon 5d Mark 3?

Hey everyone,

I have been looking into buying a new camera soon and was wondering what anybody's thoughts have been on the 5d Mark 3 from Canon. I have been doing a lot of research and it seems great, but I want some advice from someone who has actually gotten to use one.

Thanks!

Justin Arwood

If you have used any of the previous 5Ds it's the same build and feel. Great full frame photos and videos. Not sure what you expect to hear about it lol. It's the best entry-pro level DSLR before you step up to actual video recording rigs.

If its only for YouTube use, thats way OTT.
If you are actually looking at getting into photography etc as well, its still too much to start with.
If you are already competent with DSLR's and want the next step up, the camera is perfect. If not, look into the 650D (T4i) or the 70D.

Dayum that's an expensive camera! It looks pretty darn good though I gotta say. (sorry I can't actually help, I'm a Nikon user!)

No worries! And yeah it is expensive haha. But I'm in a competition right now and the prize is $5,000. So hopefully that will all pan out so I don't have to spend my own money.

A friend of mine has a Nikon d7000 and it is really solid. I like shooting with it.[DOUBLEPOST=1376429851,1376429767][/DOUBLEPOST]

Well thanks for the input! I do videos mainly and it is right near the tope end of my price range. The pro levels are a bit pricey lol.

I only have a D3100 but it's a stellar DSLR. I just wish the decent lenses didn't cost more than the damn camera :(
Ooooh good luck! Perhaps a Canon specific forum could help with all the techy stuff?

Yeah I have a videography company, so I am needing a much better camera than I have. I am fairly comfortable with DSLRs so I think it will be a good step up. Thanks for the info![DOUBLEPOST=1376430022,1376429961][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah no joke! Lenses are crazy expensive, especially constant aperture lenses :( It's kind of depressing.

The Canon 5DMK3 is a great camera to use, it was the last camera I owned. It has significant upgrades for the ergonomics over the 5DMK2, better low light sensitivity, and complete elimination of moire/aliasing issues.
